Sources are the material Kryptonote uses to answer from your knowledge. A source can be an uploaded file or a web page added by URL.
Add files
You can add files when creating a notebook or from the Sources screen inside an existing notebook. Kryptonote converts supported files into readable text so the AI can inspect them.
Uploads show progress while Kryptonote checks, converts, and stores the source. If a source fails, the Sources screen should show what happened and let you remove or retry where possible.
Add web pages
Paste a URL into the web source field. Kryptonote fetches the page, extracts the readable content, and saves it as a notebook source with the original URL attached.
Web pages work best when the content is public and article-like. Pages behind logins, paywalls, aggressive bot protection, or unusual scripts may fail or produce incomplete text.
Source quality matters
Better sources produce better answers. Clear, focused files usually work better than huge mixed documents. If a source contains many unrelated topics, consider splitting it into smaller sources before uploading.
Blocked or failed sources
Some sources may be blocked for safety, policy, size, or conversion reasons. If Kryptonote offers an appeal field, explain why the source should be allowed without including sensitive information.
If a web page fails, try saving the page as a file and uploading it, or use a more direct source such as a PDF, article export, or clean text version.
