What memory is
Memory keeps facts available across conversations in the same workspace. When an agent learns that a client prefers bullet points, or that a project must not use a certain data source, memory keeps that detail so you do not have to repeat it.
Memory belongs to one workspace. It does not carry into another workspace when you switch, and it does not leak into conversations elsewhere.
Turn memory on and off
Memory is controlled in Workspace settings. When memory is on, you can add a memory yourself at any time. Kryptonote can also save useful details after one hour without activity.
Turn memory off to stop using and learning workspace memories.
Manage memories
- Edit a memory when its wording is incomplete or wrong.
- Correct a memory rather than adding a contradicting one.
- Open history to review earlier versions of a memory.
- Forget a memory when it should no longer affect future conversations.
Correcting is better than overriding. A small set of accurate memories works better than a long list of corrections.
Understand what memory sends
Memories are included in the context of conversations, which means they reach the model provider the same as messages and attached files. Do not store secrets in memory, and do not ask the agent to remember passwords or keys.
