Choose a model
The model picker at the bottom of the composer shows the models available to your account. The exact list changes over time and depends on your plan, so the picker is the source of truth.
- Free accounts use a single model for everything.
- Go and Pro accounts can use every available model.
Use /model in the composer to search and switch models. A model change is recorded
in the thread so you can see where the conversation changed direction.
How models differ
Models differ in speed, cost in credits, how much context they can read, and which tools they can use. A capable, expensive model is not always better: it wastes credits on simple requests, and a fast model can keep up better with an interactive back-and-forth.
Tool and subagent availability depends on the selected model, your plan, and the current product configuration. If a model cannot do something, the composer or the workspace setting says so.
Switch mid-task
You do not have to pick the right model first. Start with a quick model, and switch to a more capable one for a heavy step such as reviewing a document, planning a decision, or writing code that will be used unchanged.
Image generation
Workspace settings select the model agents use for image generation, such as producing a preview image for a document. Image generation is available on paid plans.
